While working in the management of childcare and social welfare settings, I have stood at the intersection of children, families, staff, communities, and institutions.

Much of the difficulty I have witnessed in the field does not stem from a lack of individual effort, but from small frictions that arise at the points of connection—between relationships, assumptions, and systems. There is rarely enough space to pause and adjust those frictions, and as a result, practice itself can become unsustainable.

Toi’s focus on “points of connection” and “moments of divergence” resonates deeply with the challenges I have experienced in daily practice.

I hope to contribute, even in a small way, to building a social foundation where practice can continue without interruption.
